Mission - Sending
Romans 10
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (KJV)

Instituto Biblico Baja and NLM have been called of God to SEND indigenous families as missionaries back to their villages in Oaxaca to be the first light in the darkness and to plant churches in Baja California and in Baja Sur.
November 2008 -
Pastor Abdon Senen Ruiz Mendoza (one of IBB's first graduates) and his wife Bernardita and children Manuel, Sara, and Salmai left their home and comforts of Baja California to return to the "pioneer" subsistence living of Chalcatongo, Oaxaca, in order to bring the gospel of salvation through actions of love to the rancho of Chapultepec, Senen's home "rancho".
Their niece Marisol Ruiz, also decided to return to her home town after graduating from IBB. Marisol is the only light in Plan de Ayala. She joins Senen and Bernardita in ministry in Chapultepec several times a week as well as ministering in her own village.
We as a sending team have systems of support in place:
- communication and encouragement through internet letters and phone calls once a week
- some financial support through the conference and some from e-team prayer partners
- A committed prayer support team from the Papalote church and individuals in Mexico, and the NLM E-Team
- Continuing education from visiting faculty from IBB
- Bibles, books and study materials are mailed on a regular basis
- Assistance in building homes, and home furnishings etc.
- We jave also assisted all missionaries in obtaining vehicles for ministry
August 2010 -
Beni and Nati Ruiz and Caro
Beni and family arrived in Plan de Ayala, a small village in the outskirts of Chalcatongo in August of 2010. Beni and Senen are learning how to work as a team in the area of Chalcatongo. Beni's family lives in Plan and he is currently building a home... little by little on land that his father gave him. They have begun ministering with Marisol to the children of Plan de Ayala, having a children's club at their home once a week. They are living in Beni's brother's home in his absence.
For the first year of Beni's presence in the village he is required to work full time on a volunteer basis as their accountant. This "cargo" leaves him little time to really get involved in ministry. But he and Nati have begun developing relationships and also have a good reputation for honesty and integrity and acts of love. One young mother has accepted Christ and has been discipled since their arrival. They are looking forward to having more time in minitry when Beni's cargo is over.
Recently a door has opened to them to go to a village called San Pedro Molinos, some two-three hours distance from Chalcatongo. They have received an invitation to come. San Pedro Molinos is a completely unreached village of oral tradition. God has been preparing their way. Please pray for Beni and Nati as they prepare to go.
September 2007 FACT FINDING TRIP TO OAXACA - Preparing the way...
Senen and Berndita, Marisol, and Beni and Nati were born in indigenous villages in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. In September 2007, a first missionary journey was taken to Oaxaca by Ramon, Don and Ilene, Senen and daughter Luz Elena and Beni, a cousin to Senen. Our goal was to 1) identify obstacles that returning believers would face, 2) network with other missionaries in Oaxaca (especially ones who could minister to our returning missionaries).
Don used the research to write his doctoral dissertation. He has since done followup work, Addendum to the Dissertation.
We are using the research to prepare our missionaries who will be returning this year, 2008. This is a historical time for the Free Methodist Conference of Baja California. Senen and Bernadita Ruiz were the first missionaries ever to sent by any Free Methodist conference in Mexico.
Below you can go with us to see Oaxaca and the mission field of the Mixteco peoples of Chalcatongo.
